Loka Loka Café was built from years of real food service experience, large-scale kitchen operation, and a strong belief in combining good food with modern technology. Our story did not start in a café — it started in a school.
We operated a centralised kitchen for an entire school — preparing 4,000 to 5,000+ meals per day, covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students and school workers. This experience gave us a strong foundation in food preparation, kitchen management, large-volume cooking, food safety, and daily operation control.
We were not a normal canteen. We implemented card payment systems, facial recognition for student verification, auto cooking machines operating 8+ hours daily, UV vegetable cleaning, online pre-ordering during COVID, and even robot service — making us one of the first food service operations in Malaysia to run at this level of technology.
After the school canteen contract ended, we opened our first physical shop, Yusuko, focusing on Malay and Western cuisine. Business was strong, but we wanted a stronger identity, a wider concept, and a brand that could serve more types of customers.
We renovated the entire shop, introduced a modern dining environment with high-technology lighting, and launched Loka Loka — a Chinese, Malay, and Western fusion café. Built from real experience, designed for everyday customers, and driven by the same passion that started it all.
Long before we opened Loka Loka, we were already running one of the most technology-driven food service operations in Malaysia. These are not ideas — these were real systems running every day.
Students and workers used prepaid cards to purchase items and top up funds — making the canteen fully cashless and efficient.
To protect students' safety and personal property, we implemented facial recognition verification before every transaction.
At peak, up to 3 giant auto cooking machines operated 8+ hours daily, maintaining consistency while cooking at high volume.
UV light technology was used to sanitise vegetables before preparation — an extra layer of food safety built into our daily kitchen operation.
During the COVID period, students could pre-order next-day meals via phone — reducing waiting time and allowing us to manage food prep more precisely.
We introduced robots to serve customers in the canteen — creating a modern, memorable experience and putting us ahead of any food operation of our scale in Malaysia.
